(Bakersfield 60’s country/Honky Tonk) (Here’s your chance to hear the classics of honky-tonk, performed by Portland’s staunchest country traditionalists. Hard-core Bakersfield twang right out of the playbooks of Buck Owens and Merle Haggard, unaffected by the homogenized, country-pop of today. The Liverpool influence becomes apparent later in the evening as "The Buckles" serve up a highly listenable and eminently danceable set guaranteed to please.) Tuesday July 20th, 6-8pm - HAPPY HOUR with Keeter Stuart Band at Duff's Garage. (country) $2 Wednesday July 21st, 6-8pm - HAPPY HOUR with Chris Miller Band at Duff's Garage. (The Chris Miller Band is a Texas-style dance band, bringing together classic country gold (from Bob Wills to Ray Price and back again) with a smattering of originals from vocalist/guitarist Chris Miller.) Thursday July 22nd, 6-8pm - HAPPY HOUR with The Portland Playboys at Duff's Garage. Thursday July 22nd, 6:30pm - The Buckles at Kruger's Farm. ($10 per car. Food, beer and wine available.) Friday July 23rd, 6-8pm - HAPPY HOUR with Joy & Her Sentimental Gentlemen at Duff's Garage. (western swing/ rockabilly) (Joy and her Sentimental Gentlemen (Sent Gents if the marquee is small or if your tongue is thick) draw from a broad swath of music from 40’s swing and jump to 60’s country, but what unifies it all is singer Joy Dorsey’s affectless musicality, and the hot and tasty pedal steel and Telecaster of Russ Blake and Ian Miller.
